Food System Economic Partnership

Extension Educator, Jackson County MSU Extension

Phil Tocco is currently an Extension Educator in Jackson County.  As a member of the MSU Product Center’s Ag Innovation Counselor network, Mr. Tocco works directly with aspiring entrepreneurs to help them focus their ideas, build a business plan around them and solve the critical issues holding their business back. Mr. Tocco has a degree in Plant Protection and Pest Management from the University of California-Davis. He has expertise and experience in field crop, vegetable and fruit production. In the past he has been involved in creating a number of community based initiatives including coordination of community gardens at homeless shelters and creating gardening classes geared to a low-income audience to develop capacity among this audience to meet their fresh food needs. As part of the Food System Economic Partnership, Mr. Tocco represents the MSU Extension resources in Jackson County.
